Mach Dan does Team Zav proud

MACH Dan, the star of Team Zav’s stable, produced one of the best performances of his career in Saturday night’s Hunter Cup at Tabcorp Park.

Mark Pitt sent Mach Dan forward from his outside front row draw and despite getting half a length in front he was unable to cross the leader Spirit Of St Louis in an early 200 metre burn for supremacy.

Mach Dan settled three back in the running line before Pitt pulled out three wide without cover with 800 metres to travel.

Mach Dan made a line of three around the home turn and refused to yield in the home straight before narrowly missing third place finishing six metres behind the winner Honolua Bay.

“He went super, with the work he did at the start and again in the final 800 metres we couldn’t be more proud of him,” said Danny Zavitasanos.
