He hit the milestone with the bravest of thirds in the Group 1 $300,000 Victoria Cup, 2240m, at Melton on Saturday, October 12.

The run was right up with the best of his career - attacked for the lead for the best part of 1000m before handing up and then fighting to the line.

Raced in partnership with Warren Viney, Mach Dan’s record now stands at 28 wins, seven seconds and 10 thirds from 81 starts for $1,009.935.

“We’re just rapt, thrilled -  what a run,” Danny said immediately after the Victoria Cup.

“He was super tonight. He worked hard early and then twice. 

“I just love him.”
