PETRACCA named 2023 Victorian 3yo Pacing Colt/Gelding of the Year

Petracca has received a major accolade for his deeds as a three-year-old.

The Captaintreacherous colt has been named the 2023 Victorian 3yo pacing colt/gelding of the year.

Petracca had a stunning 2023 season for trainer Emma Stewart.

He had six wins in seven starts.

His success was headlined by the completion of the Group 1 double of the Victoria Derby and Vicbred Super Series finals.

Petracca clean swept each classic, also winning a Victoria Derby heat, and Vicbred Super Series heat and semi-final.

Petracca is out of Lovelist and was bred by the Cameron family.

Lovelist was an 18-time winner, saluting in the Group 2 Vicbred Home Grown Final as a two-year-old, Group 2 SA Southern Cross Classic for 3yos and Group 2 Breeders Crown for 4yo mare.

Petracca’s career standings are 11 wins and third from 14 starts.

He is yet to race this season as a four-year-old.
